Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico

A highly prestigious wine achieved by carefully selecting the finest bunches of grapes which are left to dry on wooden trays for 120 days. The wine is then aged in special large oak barrels. Robust and elegant, a wine with complex structure and unquestionable character. Amarone has an intense ruby red colour, tending towards garnet with age. The nose is powerful and persistent, with aromas of ripe fruits, a note of cherry jam and gentle spices. Warm and generous, it expands impressively on the palate, with a richness and elegance. Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico

The name of this wine is derived from the “rècie” (ear), or outer parts of the grape clusters, which are more exposed to sun and wind and are used to produce this unique sweet wine. It is the result of an exacting technique, which starts with the selection during the harvesting and finishes with a soft pressing of the grapes in February. The result is a seductive, meditative wine with a lovely sweetness. The colour is deep ruby red with a tendency towards purple. Intense aromas of red fruits, the taste mellow and warm, with a velvety feel in the mouth.
